Embrace Your Scary Demon To Ignite Your Potential

“Do you know that there's still a chance for you, cause there's a spark in you. You just gotta ignite the light, and let it shine.” ~Katy Perry, Firework

Editor's Note: This is a guest post by one of my coaching clients, Stephanie Wetzel, who has bravely agreed to share her story of living her passion and changing her life. I coached her, but Stephanie did all of the work. In just a few months, she is soaring, and I am awed by her courage and tenacity.

I thought I had missed my chance. I thought I was too far gone to start again—too many responsibilities, too many unknowns, just too grown up to take a risk.

But I wasn’t really any of those things, I was just stuck. And the more I struggled against the quicksand that was pulling me down, the faster I was sinking. Instead of letting someone help me, I was going to do it on my own because I am strong and brave. Right?

How To Kill The Root Of A Limiting Belief

“There is only one cause of unhappiness: the false beliefs you have in your head, beliefs so widespread, so commonly held, that it never occurs to you to questions them.” ~Anthony de Mello

You want to do it, but you don't get it done. You promise yourself you'll take action, but you are too afraid.

You want to be different, but you don't know how. At the core of this failure to launch is a fear or belief that is holding you back.

For everything you wish you could do, be, or accomplish, you are just one thought (and a bucket full of feelings) away from unfettered success.

I'd go as far to say that 90% of the things you wish to accomplish could be accomplished — if it weren't for limiting beliefs and the incredibly powerful feelings that fuel these beliefs.

The only person getting in your way is you.

Travel Boldly With A Fly For Free Guarantee

When I think about some of the boldest things I've ever done, travel is usually involved. It is nearly impossible to travel somewhere new without learning something about humanity, culture, and yourself.

Some of the greatest adventures and learning opportunities in life happen outside of the comfort zone of our home or even our hometown. Fearless and exciting living involves stretching yourself mentally, emotionally, and geographically.

We often talk a lot about loving to travel and wanting adventure.

But how often do you really do it?

Why You Should Be A Life-Long Learner

“All the world is a laboratory to the inquiring mind.”  ~Martin H. Fischer

When I graduated from college, I remember feeling elated that I was done with school and could now go begin living my life.

No more all-nighters studying for exams. No more boring professors droning on about mindless topics. I was finished learning and on my way to freedom and adventure.

When you are 21, school feels like a means to an end. You graduate from high school, go on to college, and maybe pursue an advanced degree — all with the plan of preparing yourself for a career.

36 Ways To Be Irresistibly Attractive

how to be attractive

“The secret of attraction is to love yourself. Attractive people judge neither themselves nor others. They are open to gestures of love. They think about love, and express their love in every action.” ~Deepak Chopra

Here's the bottom line: we want people to like us and be attracted to us.

Even when we say we don't care what people think, we really do.

We desire to be loved, respected, and viewed in a positive light.

Our human interactions are vital to our sense of well-being, self-esteem, and happiness.

When we discover that someone doesn't like us or rejects us in some way, our emotions can run the gamut from defensive indignation to deep pain and profound sadness.

In The Face Of Holiday Chaos, Take A Stand For Simplicity

Next week it begins. The wild ride on the runaway locomotive known as the holiday season.

After Halloween, there is a brief lull when we can breathe and just live. In these few weeks, I have enjoyed watching the leaves change color, fall off the trees, and blow around in the air like free spirits.

I have enjoyed the quietude of cooler temperatures and shorter days.

But come next Thursday, “let the wild rumpus begin!” — as Maurice Sendak writes.
